Other Details to Note

We provide one pool/hot tub towel per guest per stay. Laundry pods, dryer sheets, paper towels, dish soap, trash bags, and a fresh sponge are included, along with complimentary coffee, tea, creamer, and sweeteners (K-cups & a large coffee pot available). Firewood is supplied for the outdoor fire pit, and backyard lights are on a timer to create a cozy evening atmosphere. Guests may fish in the small pond—please bring your own pole. No parties and no smoking inside or near the house; a smoking area with ashtray is by the fire pit. Parking is on the side only (circle drive for unloading; do not block garage). Located 5 min from The Pavilion at Weatherly and 15 min from Budds Creek Raceway/MIR, with trailer parking available on request.

Quiet peaceful setting surrounded by beautiful woods. 1/2 mile off main road on asphalt driveway. 10 minutes to La Plata and Minutes from The Pavilion at Weatherly Event venue. Close to Cobb Island for dining and local Steamed Crabs on the water. 1 Hour to Downtown Washington DC, 45 Minutes to MGM National Harbor, 25 Minutes to quaint Downtown Leonardtown featuring Wineries, Restaurants, Shopping and Breweries. Swan Point Golf Club and Wicomico Golf Club are close. Minutes to King George Virginia.

Guest Access

Access will be keyless with codes upon check in. Guest will be able to access Large main house, Pool and pool house is exclusive to the house guest only. Guests have access to all fields and land areas outside. At times a farm hand may be present on the property to maintain the grounds etc. NO entry into any of the out buildings on the farm is permitted.

My friends and I take a Labor Day trip every year, and after four years of traveling, Kim’s place is easily one of the best we’ve stayed at. Everything was so thoughtfully prepared. The location is easy to find, private, and full of amenities—from ample parking, grill, fire pit, pool, and hot tub to the movie theater and cozy lounge area. We enjoyed every moment. Kim was also incredibly responsive, which made our stay even smoother. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this place!

This was our second stay at Kim's place and certainly hope it will not be our last. The house has so much to do. Whether you are looking for fun pool time, a movie weekend, or a relaxing morning watching the forest wake up, this home is the right choice. It can easily fit ten people and not feel remotely crowded. The house is stocked better than most full time homes. This is less an AirBNB and more the home you always dreamed of having. It is a true blessing to get to savor it even if only for a short time. Its close enough to DC for a daytrip but honestly, you may not want to waste a second missing out on time in the house. After two stays, I still feel like I am discovering new well thought out nooks or amenities to try. Maybe next year I will finally feel like I have experienced it all. If you need a place to stay in the DC area, you would struggle to find a better choice. I just hope you leave a weekend free for my next visit!

Kim, I don’t even know where to begin—your home was absolutely amazing. We only left once to pick up a crab order because everything we needed was right there. The house was beautiful, warm, and so welcoming. It had all the comforts of home… and then some! The girls swam until they were wrinkled and still didn’t want to get out! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at Shady Oak Farm. We made such special memories that we’ll always treasure.

I've stayed in several Airbnb properties over the past 10 years, and this one was by far the best. Kim’s meticulous attention to detail made our stay truly exceptional. Set on acres of beautifully maintained greenery, the property is both peaceful and pristine. The house itself is spacious and well laid out—perfect for spending time together as a group, while also offering quiet corners for personal downtime. It’s an ideal retreat. The house was also spotless and thoughtfully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Kim went above and beyond with thoughtful personal touches that made our group feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Most importantly, Kim was incredibly kind and responsive, quickly answering any questions we had. I highly recommend booking this property—it’s worth every penny, and you absolutely won’t regret it.

We had a wonderful stay with our children and grandchildren. Amongst the adults, no one could recall a more lovely Air BNB. There was nothing that we could want: cooking utensils were better than my home; storage containers and bag clips; s’more fixing starters; water toys and so much more that there was absolutely no stress. My husband said ‘they have everything and it worked like it should’. He was so happy the grill was perfect! Absolutely stunning. Thank you!!

Wow! Our stay at Shady Oak Farm was amazing! Kim is a gracious host and her home is beyond beautiful. From the picturesque landscaping to the relaxing pool, hot tub, and firepit area, it was like a private resort. We loved the movie room, ping pong table, and even played a few card games. The house is immaculate and well appointed. Her attention to detail to make you comfortable goes above and beyond. We appreciated the suggestions for local eateries and things to do. The entire family agreed this was our favorite vacation rental yet. Thank you, Kim, for making our vacation one to cherish.

Our visit was so WONDERFUL that we extended our stay an extra day...We just didn't want to leave this secluded haven! The house and grounds were absolutely beautiful, creating a private escape filled with numerous spaces for relaxation and entertainment. Kim was the perfect host, quickly replying to messages and providing information, yet staying out of the way in order to provide complete privacy. Besides an impeccably decorated and completely outfitted home, she also provided welcome treats as well as an incredibly thorough guidebook of favorite restaurants and places to visit. The house was surrounded by beautiful landscape and trees and the salt-water pool, hot tub and screened-in porches were heavenly. We had eight days of PARADISE and are so grateful for the glorious experience! THANK YOU!!!
